the robot who has their water against the fire type will always have the advantage, that's how the game works
maybe in real games there will be times you lead venusaur, get put against typhlosion and go into swampert - you could 1v3 with swampert if their team sucks, or they could just go into their meganium and you get rolled and now you don't have a typhlosion answer either
it's not a 100% set in stone "if lead matchup is bad you autolose" but there's a reason people lead with the safest thing they can
honestly I don't even see how this is such a difficult thing for you to understand
