>>19362995Man, you know it's fucking bad when you start to miss May/Wally encounters in gen3. Not that I don't like Wally but he hardly qualifies as a rival.
That's how bad these characters were. I've got to echo "what the fuck was the point" again too. Because seriously, what the fuck was the point?
>Serena/CalemThe only member of the group who could be considered a rival at all, he/she just acts out the loser role, showing up to lose and inflate the player's ego before going off again. In a number of scenes he/she won't even meet with the other characters. It was nice that she/he had that revelation about individuality and got the power of the Mega Ring in the end, but it's a few lines in the postgame. In the main plot all he/she ever does is show up and try to beat you, losing every time, with no real development or role beyond that.
>Tierno I'm a fat dancing idiot hurr. I wish I could expand on something but that's actually all there is.
>TrevorEchoing what someone said earlier, the stupidest "smart character" I've ever seen in a game. Cheren(the previous smart guy character) was 10 times what this guy was. Apart from comparing Pokedexes a few times and telling you about Mega Stones in the postgame(information he actually got from the professor iirc) he really does absolutely nothing and was probably the most forgettable of the bunch.
>ShaunaI would say her character was the most developed, she had a fair bit of dialogue in the Team Flare scenes. Still I can't help but feel she was forced on you, designed as a friend/romantic interest first and an actual character second.
Between the framerate drops, broken difficulty, and characters I'm inclined to think XY was rushed.
