I like the designs, I like the world of Pokemon. I like how there are Intelligent creatures who share both human and animal/material characteristics. Creatures who resemble what we already know.
If Pokemon were real, I would want to do nothing but care for my Pokemon. I would never force them to battle, never harm them or do anything bad to them. I would groom them, feed them. Watch movies with them. Take them to see all the wondrous places in the world. Just everyday normal things.
There is no need for violence. You can tell me all day long that certain Pokemon love to battle. But really ask yourself this. Do Pokemon like having a world embroiled in constant violent turmoil and chaos? Do they like having violent thugs who use and manipulate them? Do they enjoy the misery certain trainers put them through?
If you really loved Pokemon, you'd do what's best for them. Best for the world, and advocate peace over violence.
