HOWEVER imo the vgc format is the most balanced it's ever been, and the ease with which you can change a pokemon's nature, ability and ev train etc. makes building a comp team much easier than previous gens. I transferred my shiny metagross in a heavy ball from UM and i'm having a blast online.
the pve is flawed but the comp battling is good, as is pokemon home integration and the dlc. overall i like the games a lot.
the battle tower was so good in UM tho... how could they fuck it up so badly?
