You like the changes, you'll like the evolution. But if you dislike the changes, they'll ruin even a design you originally liked.

Same for Incineroar and Decidueye. Some like the change, others think the change could have been done better, and others still believe more could be done with the original concept.

And that's why Gamefreak purposefully appeals to different demographics with different designs. Anyone should like at least a few Pokemon, even if not all of them.
