Gen 4 was the peak of Pokemon is all mediums. Sinnoh was chill as fuck with some of the best designs of any gen and and it was arguably some of the best girls in the franchise (Dawn, Cynthia, Maylene, Gardenia, Cheryl)
The anime was in top form, taking everything seriously but also knowing how to have fun, and the movies were pretty good and ambitious. And finally to say nothing about the games, which are still some the best in the franchises history.
