>>13241967Fuck it I'm talking about the days of Platinum.
10th grade came around the corner and I was a fat, smelly, single pleb who only cared about video games and stalking his crushes on myspace. Platinum had been announced and Pokebeach, my main pokemon website, had been going batshit with excitement. I went to the EB games after school and asked one of the employees when Platinum is coming out and when I can pre-order it.
That cunt laughed in my face and said that there is no such thing as platinum and that I probably saw a romhack online.
>mfw Platinum commercials started airing a few days laterAnyways I got it. I beat the game in 10 hours and I was proud of it. After that I started looking into the metagame. I was curious about it. I went and got my best team of legendaries and starter pokemon from previous games that were high enough level and I went to Serebiichat to find some pickup matches. At the time, I had no fucking clue about EV training. I got my ass kicked hard. So hard it left a mark, actually, as a Scizor was the only thing that stopped my entire team. That's right, Scizor. That fucker was the most overused pokemon in OU. There wasn't a fucking team without a shiny Scizor on it. Anyways, I looked up "how to be good online in pokemon" when I was in my video production class. I learned from this awesome website that is now 404 about EV training and he explained it better than all of the top pokemon websites could. I knew I had to EV train a pokemon. My favorite pokemon to this day is Rampardos so he was going to be my first, I didn't care if he was "NU." I had no idea about good EV spreading and I gave him 255 Attack EV's and 255 Special Attack EV's. Boy was I retarded. Basically after that I did EV training right, got all of my friends into competitive battling, and we used to battle each other with new teams every friday. Those were my fondest memories of Platinum.
