With Poipole being specifically mentioned as a starter in the Ultra Space, it'd be interesting to see how GF would handle making an alternate universe pokemon game. With pokemon pool size being a bigger problem with each new generation past this point, there will probably never again be a new mainline pokemon entry that has them all, and the way people handled sword and shield it's pretty clear no matter what pokemon you leave out it's gonna be a massive shitshow. So it'd make sense in GF set all the existing pokemon aside and try an alternate timeline for a while, with a pool of only new pokemon, in an entirely new setting. Not only would it temporarily alleviate the dexit issue, but also it'd let them play around with set in stone things like starters being types other than the classic three.
