It would give people a reason to care about the eggs even after they have all the Alolan mons, give people a reason to want long-distance friends (and thus incentivize involvement in online communities like this one), and give people a method to actually complete their dexes without traveling the entire fucking world or meeting up IRL with people who do - which makes no sense in the first place because it's not like Niantic gets more money if people travel more, so you can't say this it's because of them wanting to jew people.
In fact, it would benefit Niantic financially to put all regionals in eggs because then people would buy more incubators. So what the hell?
