Can you come up with any other explanation for why Mewtwo lost to Charizard X in Origins? It clearly demonstrated the ability to lock Charizard into some kind of psychic field and yet it never tried to do it again despite it being an easy win button.

Mewtwo didn't use Barrier when Charizard X used Fire Blast, it just covered its face with its hands.

It also tried to run away from Swift which again is plot armor because it could just have blocked it with Barrier.
