>EeveeI switch to Tara, straight into a Hypnosis. I stay in, eating a combination of Water Gun, Sonicboom, and Vice Grip. Tara manages to land a crit Payday, taking around half of Eevee's health. Unfortunately, a crit Vice Grip claims Tara. Nigel revenge kills it with Surf.
>JynxNigel lands a Stun Spore as Jynx sets up a Substitute. From there, they trade Surfs and Quick Attacks, Jynx succumbing to Nigel's Surf attack.
>Poliwrath2 shot by Nigel with Psychic, eating a Body Slam in the process. By now, Nigel is near the red.
>WartotleNigel lands Stun Spore as Wartotle lands Body Slam, paralyzing Nigel and putting it in the red. Lisa comes in in Nigel's place, battling Wartotle with a combination of Psychic and Surf (Psychic losing PP). Wartotle's Bonemerang, Body Slam, and Tri Attack only delay the inevitable.
That leaves our first wave of champions: Nigel (Starmie), Marv (Hypno), and Lisa (Lapras).
Some final thoughts:
>Nigel completely shitting on Blue's team is a pretty succinct metaphor for this run.>Losing Pokemon that have been with me since Celadon sucks. I have nothing against the brand new guys, but I didn't really get a chance to fall in love with them like I did with Ken or Cam. At least I still got Nigel.>I feel like a blew my load with this one. Having a Starmie with Psychic out the gate made Kanto a breeze. Hopefully the next 2 Gen 1 runs aren't much more difficult.>I was too harsh on Marv.
