N isn't a good character and focusing on a trite story is no excuse to stop innovating with gameplay and start bombarding players with melodramatic cutscenes.
No one likes being guided around the region on a tour, Gen 5 doesn't even give the illusion of freedom previous games did.
There are zero major innovations in the gameplay in Gen 5, all they did was make shit additions to previous gens like with hidden abilities or make small gimmicks like rotation battles or pokestar studios.
Also I don't like hidden abilities for the sole reason that they are extremely annoying to get. If it was just a normal third ability or a breeding only ability to encourage breeding that would be better and I'd tolerate them more.
