The point is, the animations don't preclude half the fucking natures. The pokedex may describe Gyarados as anger incarnate, but there's nothing about the specific animations that means your specific gyarados is a certain way. Rather, the descriptions are general, and the natures are specific.
This is not true for the overly-personalized animations we've seen recently.
