They don't see pokemon as beings but as instrument of their will, a sight of lack of empathy toward those under their tutelage, an abuse of authority.
Pokemons should be equal to us as they have show multiple times they aren't so different than us. Why do we keep treating them like inferior beings? I don't really know.
