>>11725679> but those bulgy eyes with the rest of the smooth, reptilian packageFirst of all salamanders aren't even reptiles... Secondly, no they don't "scream" salamander. If you had to pin them on anything, I'd say some kind of dinosaur. Flygon's back and front legs are shaped extremely differently, Salamander's are not. The back legs sport powerful thighs suggesting a bipedal stance, neither things feature on the salamander. Flygon's front arms are clearly for grasping and are shorter than it's back legs, they also feature sharp claws the the salamander doesn't have. On top of that, the bulging eyes are clearly insect eyes, just like how its previous form was more insectile. Not to mention the wings and the antennae. The whole line is based on antlions, that's clear. I mean, you're trying to say that Trapinch is a juvenile antlion, Vibrava is an adult antlion and Flygon is a... salamander? Ironically in trying to blame GF for inconsistent naming you have to believe in an even MORE ridiculous inconsistency. Flygon is clearly an antlion with dragon/GENERIC reptile features, none of the features on it are salamander features exclusively. It wouldn't even occur to you if you didn't have this bollocks name theory...
I mean, do you realise how much you're cherry picking right now? You handwaived away wings as if they were incidental, and focused on it's smooth skin. WINGS for fuck's sake. If you can dismiss WINGS that easily and think that smooth skin "screams" salamander, you need to take a step back from muh patterns.
