>>42166059The game is bloated as all fuck, and I recognized that when I was fucking 10. I forgot the fighting bonus damage vs normal because I haven't played this franchise in a fucking decade, but that's fine to stay.
>didn't combine water and iceNot a bad idea. Honestly, it probably wouldn't hurt to do something like change "Flying" to "Wind," and then only give "Ice" type damage to "Water/Wind" pokemon. Type combinations could have special attack types that were uniquely effective against other certain types. Anything to compress the fucking type chart while also expanding on any particular type combo's team potential outside of a couple extra resistances and weaknesses.
>Dragon is good against ghostsFuck you and fuck your child-brain "balance by flavor" mentality. Something else needed to kill ghosts, and it could have been anything. The point is that the game has too many types, and ultimately all of the possible type combinations and stat variations sort of coalesce into a "competitively optimal" point anyway. Just fixing the type relations wouldn't make Pokemon all that better, but it would probably be the most significant single improvement that the series could see if it ever received an overhaul.
