It's why the once based archetype of flamboyant magician is completely alien to zoomers. They've never witnessed it in it's glory because they were born too late, and will now look at these characters with the lens of "yassified" and trans/drag related connotations. Like OP did. You can't tell them that these characters aren't trying to be women, they simply can't comprehend any other concept.
