The biggest problem of this game will probably be the competition against Platinum. Platinum is one of the best pokèmon games ever made and holds up even today.
If they do not add at least Platinum's elements in the remake, they will feel like a downgrade, not an upgrade. Not at the level of the ORAS disaster, but they will feel like a downgrade.
