I feel like a lot of people don't realize the fact that this beta build is NOT the Spaceworld '97 build. I don't know why people keep saying it is but it isn't. It's closer to the Hobbyfair '98 build which is only a few months after, but could be drastically different. There is no doubt to me that there could have been multiple changes to the game during this time. One of the reasons I believe this is Qwilfish and Ledyba.
As you guys know, our original only information about this beta was from a first hand source, who described and drew recreations of what he saw on his own. They've proven to be fairly accurate. Two notable differences though are Ledyba and Qwilfish. His Qwilfish appears more soft and not-angry than the final version, and is missing the two-tone design of the finished Qwilfish. However, also to note is that the Qwilfish in this beta is essentially finished. I'm almost certain he saw an unfinished design of Qwilfish that was changed in this beta.
Now the smoking gun I believe is Ledyba, specifically it's evolution. In this build Ledyba is essentially finished, and evolves into a bigger ladybug. The design doesn't make too much sense, but compare the evolution to this early sighting of Ledyba, and they have a lot in common. Particularly
>Angry Eyes>Four LegsIt fits so perfectly that I believe that the Ledyba in this is not the one in the Spaceworld version the Japanese guy saw. The question is how much of the dex was changed between those two versions? I know the flying squirrel is noticably absent from the game.
