Now that I think about it, no ship is really a competition for amour. It’s changed the game so thoroughly that I’m pretty sure nothing but the current staff retiring or a second Yajima esque director will undo it. Honestly, it’s kind of scary how they could make such a ballsy move like giving ash a canon love interest, double down at the end of her run, then refuse to substitute her role. It’s impressive that the writers came together to break such a mold for a series that’s never ending, sure. But surely they realize they can’t keep Serena on a pedestal forever. Not even /padt/ can do that (hopefully).
