Even Sugimori calls it “he.” Even though it can be female, its design thematically is based on posh, stuck-up royal pretty boys, acting regal and sophisticated. It’s personality was otherwise just cold and unemotive, not whatever is projected onto waifu serperiors. Its just a high-class vine snake, the only reason people latched onto it is because it’s a snake (which leads to vore fetishes since real snakes eat their prey whole) with a fair face.
