>>34495206Thanks to the Evolite item, some NFEs have niches over their evos. Charjabug can support special attacking allies unlike Vikavolt. Clefairy has the Friend Guard ability unlike it’s evo. Porygon2 is more defensively-oriented compared to Z. Type:Null can utilize it’s defensive capabilities more than Sillvally due to having a crit immunity and having identical stats except speed, etc. Chansey is one of the few NFEs to nearly outclass it’s evo.
In terms of design, most NFEs tend to be cute or look cooler. As fully evolved forms tend to be too monstrous or remove the appeal of what they liked about the previous form. I like Phantump more than Trevenant not only because its adorable, but a ghost with a stump head is unique compared to a haunted tree.
