You CAN bring your favourite mons but you have to put extra to make them work, the reason that some pokemons got placed in different tiers is their range of usefulness and the things they can do, but it's more important that the player is able to use them properly
Trust me on higher ELO people either use ONE type of team composition or go full meme team
