Finished all my battles. Ended 16 wins, 14 losses. I did pretty bad but that was to be expected since I didn't know shit about doubles VGC.
I was expecting people to use gimmicks but it looks like everyone simply used their doubles VGC teams. All out Hyper Offense, Mega Mom, Rain teams and Dark Void Smeargle were the most common thing I saw.
I had a full team but the ones I ended up using were:
Milotic, my intimidate counter
Mega-tar, my anti-weather
Dragonite, with Inner Focus to fuck with Fake Out users and because CB Extreme Speed is awesome.
The only thing I knew about doubles is that Fake Out and weather are really common, so I prepared for those, I thought intimidate would be common too but that wasn't the case...
Milotic was my MVP even though in 30 battles, only 2 guys used intimidate. It was bulky enough to take hits and strong enough to wreak some havoc. Recover and Sitrus would keep it alive for a while. Having uncommon weaknesses helped too. Nobody carries electric/grass moves.
Mega-tar was a hit or miss. With no recovery, being slower than Milo, and everything carrying SE moves like EQ, he didn't do as well. He did counter weather teams but he sucked against HO, and HO teams were the most common.
Nite was alright. When leading, Inner Focus was great but he ended up being my 3rd guy so his ability went to waste.
My main weakness was having nothing but slow somewhat-bulky mons. No wonder HO destroyed me. I also had nothing for Dark Void Smeargle.
