People don't like edgy shit in pokemon because TPC has tried to repeatedly preach that there's no such thing as a truly "evil" pokemon, save for maybe Yveltal. That's why the new movie literally has a mad scientist kill off Coco's parents. Humans are bad to other humans but pokemon try to be good to everyone unless they are commanded to commit evil acts by humans.
