If that were the case they'd have just given her two different set of clothes depending on the version, just like nearly every fucking character in these games. Hell, Clavell even has two different official artworks.

Her clothes depicting both clearly has some meaning.

Clive (which is not Clavell's first rodeo on the cosplay train, the first one was Heath) is just a red herring. What other human character comes in a box exclusive non shiny and a shiny colouration? Think about it.

He has also seen legions of dumbasses throw themselves into Area Zero which is why he forbids anyone from going down there. He also doesn't get surprised seeing your box legendary because he has seen them before already.
