I was disinterested from the first trailer. But most of the backlash only started after the dex cut was brought up because that was the only thing that could snap some people out of sucking Game Freak's dick.
Even if the games had all of the pokemon, they would be worthy of criticism. But if they had all the pokemon, they wouldn't have gotten as much criticism.
