Ever since Genesect was revealed I anticipated its original form and possible revamped event in Gray actually involving Team Plasma.
Neither of these happened as I watched the Kamis go full animorphs and Keldeo get a dragon dildo while the Plasma scientist Colress is introduced and no connection to him is established (Actually, he was wasted potential in general...)
Then I thought its original self would be a separate Pokemon like Mew, and be a tie-in for Gen 6. Instead Mewtwo got that role, and pulled a beyond god mode mega evolution out of its ass while using Genesect as a mere tool to hype up this transformation.
Now I await PokeBank's release to transfer Genesect and see what that Hiker does, fully aware that there will be no new form despite the location being a fossil lab of all places. I am also fully aware that even the hope that its signature move will be buffed to no longer be pure shit is also unfounded.
If you haven't noticed, liking Genesect so much is a result of Bug being my favorite type. You can guess how I felt about regressive Vivillon being the only one introduced this gen while the type is pointless nerfed even further by Fairy.
