This is the most enjoyment I've had with Pokemon since HGSS/Platinum. Even though I'm not a fan of some of the choices they made (removing abilities, really?) they managed to find the sense of adventure again somehow. Maybe it's that you don't get stopped every 2 feet for a boring cutscene with boring characters, maybe it's that Kanto isn't as linear a region and you aren't roadblocked by arbitrary power outages or sperging Pokemon, maybe it's the renewed focus on catching, maybe it's the flexible teambuilding with minimal grind. I don't know what it is, but it's refreshing. Against all odds, this game somehow has soul.
It's okay if you're not interested in LGPE, but if you're jaded about gen 6 and 7 like I was, at least borrow or rent it and give it a shot before you shitpost about how it killed the series for the next 5 years
