SM has essentially reached the XYZ point of the series. If the past arcs of SM are anything to go by that means in 18-30 episodes we'll get 1 final arc for the series after the current LGPE arc. That means they'll be cramming 2 arcs into about 27 episodes each. 27ish for the LGPE arc and 27 for the final arc before Gen 8 begins.
As a whole SM has been terribly paced to the point where it feels like nothing at all has happened. They never even bothered to do a school tournament arc for crying out loud.
