>>40606433I used to be into Pokemon as a kid and would watch it with my mom pretty often, but never got into the games because my country didn't get them can then. Around halfway gen 3 anime I stopped watching it and kinda forgot about Pokemon for several years. Fast forward to when I was 17, I had a friend who would always talk about this "N" and "Hilda" and many other characters, and she'd always
reblog several gen 5 pics. I eventually came to know it was a new Pokemon generation and got really excited for some reason. Download Pokedex 3D on my 3DS and it only had the gen 5 dex, it'd give you 3 new Pokemon a day and it was so cool, I literally couldn't wait "Whoa, look at this guy, looks so cool!", discovering all new Pokemon like that was super fun. And one day I unlocked pic related. I had told my mom of my recent rediscovery of Pokemon and showed her the new dex from time to time, but when I showed her this guy she pretty much fell in love. "Ahhh, it's so cute! Look at his grumpy face! He's so upset haha how adorable, I love it!!" and everytime after that I showed her Swadloon she'd react the same. There was a show here called Chiquitas that had a song called "Chufacha" about turning sad thoughts into happy ones, so she nicknamed Swadloon "Chufalito".
I decided to actually play Pokemon for the first time and started with Silver and then
X, which came out the following year when I was 18 and caught my first Swadloon there. Named him Chufalito and my mom was so excited "You actually have him! It's so adorable, and you can actually play with him!" referring to Amie, which she asked if she could use several times.
So yeah, I like Swadloon because it's both a symbol of my "return" (if you could call it that) to the franchise, and because my mom adores him, so seeing his grumpy face triggers happy memories in me.
