Except Z-Moves can't be used outside of Alola because <hamfisted plot device>.
Phyco mentions this. The spin-offs purposefully avoided using Z-Moves as a result. Masters even goes out of its way to explain that Sync Moves are not Z-Moves even when the names are derivative because of certain characters coming from Alola.

That's the whole point. They might as well be Z-Moves but they AREN'T because they can't be performed without Necrozma's light. They did the same thing with Masters where the Alola characters don't actually use Z-Moves at all and have their Z-Rings stripped from their designs because it doesn't work in Pasio.
