Maybe couple the new escalation stage with an escalation rerun.
Point is, there will be so much spam of new content that, if you want to see the new content, you wont have time to do the escalation properly while also maintaining a steady flow of coins to use. If you do focus on all the escalations, you wont have time for the newer stages and thus, miss out on possibly new and usefull pokemon (mainly the mega's though).
Eitherway, you wont be able to level up your pokemon now for the next 5-6 major updates, since there is way to much to do and coins are finite.
