the most important thing is to find a mon that absolutely clicks with you. one that you can relate to, or one with a design you love. maybe it carried you through your first region, or maybe they were an unexpected powerhouse in multiplayer battles. the most important thing to remember, though, is that it doesn't always have to be your number one. you're free to change it whenever you like.
