what if

what if you made its evolution bug/flying instead of bug/water
make it based on some form of flying bug, possibly a butterfly
but wait, let it keep the eyes it has, and have menacing eyes on the wings!
it should obviously keep the pond skater theme by simply having feet that can make it stand on water, but in no way be a water type.
