>>23323283Honestly, because I seriously think it's one of the few series that hasn't gotten stale in its almost 20-year legacy. I can get bored of pretty much any video game, but Pokemon somewhat transcends normal video games because of the level of immersion, the variety of choices of character, the replayability with the assortment of self-instituted challenges, and such.
That, and I just think Pokemon is the most inventive concept to come out of Japan since 1996. For me, they've yet to top Pokemon on an inventive level and its staying power for almost two decades is testament to how great it is. It's a series that people of all ages can sit down and enjoy and it will probably always be my favorite gaming series.
