Hiro moot ate my post so I'm shortening it, but I have plenty more to say about this awful fucking character. I did play the game and I enjoyed most of the areas because the battles were creatively designed. The plot is edgy tumblr fanfic garbage, and Terra still manages to be the worst part. But it's her battle that really makes her shit to play against.
So it's based on gen 1 mechanics. There's no phys/ special split, the three later types always do neutral damage, nothing resists dragon, etc. That's fucking annoying to begin with because your team probably isn't designed for gen 1 combat and you're locked out of most of the map so you can't really catch anything new.
Then you find out it's not actually gen 1, it's a glitched gen 1, and the gym leader abuses every single bizarre gimmick in the system.
Holding a seed makes you missing no type with no weaknesses and boosts both defenses. Great that half her fucking team can heal.
Then you realize how they implemented special: it's the higher of special attack and special defense. So all the boosts to sp. def also let her sweep your team with ridiculous special damage.
It's also a fucking sand team so have fun figuring out how to beat Excadrill and Palossand in gen 1.
And her Ace is an Assault Vest Garchomp. Nigh indestructible and starts with a boosted Draco Meteor. You could easily lose a whole team to it.
Fucking awful boss.
