The game is fun but in my opinion one of the most flawed Pokemon games out there. My problem isn't with the concept of the game but how it was executed.I feel like they could have done a better job at it. As we know, battling has been simplified where abilities and held items are removed. This lead to the player having an overwhelming advantage over the NPCs as you are given a starter with maxed out stats and overpowered moves and frankly I came to find this to take the fun away of battles after a certain while. I especially found it a nuisance when battling Gym Leaders because they just felt like any other trainer rather than being a special battle. They could have added special movements with motion controls to boost the accuracy or power of your moves etc. to spice things up a bit to avoid the battles becoming a spam A fest. I also found a lot of the features to be dumbed down for no reason. For example why dumb down petting your Pokemon? You're only allowed to do it to either Pikachu or Eevee and you cant do anything besides pet it and feed it. Again, it would have been much nicer if we could play mini games, and clean it up after a battle. Luckily they added the feature that allows you to dress them up but once again I feel like this is a job that was left half done as there is a very limited number of dresses and this goes for the trainers as well.
