While Super Metroid's wrecked ship is featured to a limited extent in Metroid Zero Mission, it is not the wreckage of the Space Pirate mother ship. The explosion of the latter may however have uncovered the former, as well as opened up or even reshaped Maridia. The presence of characteristic purple TUUUUUUUUBING and mochtroids in some parts of Maridia suggests the Space Pirates simply repurposed sunken wreckage of their mothership. One reason why people believed the wrecked ship to be the mothership is the presence of the walking nigh indestructible robots in both. It's possible the wrecked ship is another Space Pirate vessel, or they were tech pilfered by the Space Pirates after their conquest of Zebes.
