Serious question. What about these makes them not "main series" games anymore? After sun and removed gyms that can't be the reason. Sure there's other differences like the ways in which you obtain pokemon, which is probably the main thing, or how starters are treated, but with what we have in gen 7 what's to say the game won't be changed up like that in the core franchise? We're kinda at a point where it seems like these could be considered as not spin-offs.
