>>56309764>The official ones often have a bit of empty space just for NPCs to walk around inyes for sure, but they use space very smartly. the official gba maps are actually quite compact, for the most part. and keep in mind that at the player view distance, even just one or two tiles make a lot of difference. I think even just moving the buildings on the right a little closer would make a big difference like I said, I made a quick mockup. but that's just my preference, at the end of the day it has to look good to you, maybe test it out in game and see how it feels.
npcs will help it feel filled out too. I would maybe add a sign or some flowers near the map connections just for some visual noise. because you don't want npcs too close to map connections because of the way they load in.
anyway I'm really just nitpicking, it is solid. just try to tighten up and focus your maps wherever you can, that's what I've been learning.
