Hopes: A movie that takes the sad bits, somberness (by Pokemon standards), and Mewtwo's being done with everything from the original and work it into a much stronger movie. Can be a better retread of the first, or ideally, a better story with those ideas.
Expectations: None of that. And Mega Mewtwo X for no satisfying reason.
But then Everyone's story is the first Pokemon movie to remotely peak my interest since Arceus simply for being different. I can actually say "we'll see" for the first time in 20 years.
