20 years ago in Hoenn, Hex Maniacs used to be even more influenced by witches than their Kalosian counterparts, leading to less caution in invocations and occult rituals. They often got possessed by wandering spirits, and encountering a possessed Hex Maniac wasn't uncommon. Signposts warning about beautiful women with glowing eyes luring trainers for 'free services' were set near Mt. Pyre and haunted places, as the predatory spirits, accidentally invoked, sought to consume the life force of living humans, semen being -apparently- filled with potent life force and easier to obtain according to local Psychics.
Signs were posted due to an increase in male trainers found drained or in compromising situations. Unfortunately, the signs had no preventive effect. Some "Olde Witches" remains in Hoenn to this day, but the Kalosian movement of Hex Maniacs became the dominant one.
