Genwars aside, this really is one of the worst designed evolution lines of all pokemon. They just made a set of gears as a pokemon and just removed some random parts from it for its pre-evolutions. And their names makes this 10 times worse, too.
At least the Magnemite line got saved by Magnezone, but I doubt GF will even attempt to salvage Klinklang.
