Better music, better region, better gameplay (as in single player gameplay, teams have more than two Pokémon), actual things to do after the main game is beaten, it's almost universally superior, the only thing Gen VI has on it are the things gradually added each Gen like newer Pokémon and moves, and the engine itself running faster.
XY were just awful, and I don't have nice things to say about ORAS either.
