Not trying to start Genwars, but which Gen do you think had the worst rival(s)? I personally don't mind friendly rivals like Hau or Hop, but some rivals are simply stale or irritating. May (or Brendan) in RSE didn't have much of a personality and he/she never battles you again after the optional battle outside the Lilycove Department Store. Hugh in B2W2 was utterly obnoxious and was obsessed with his sister's Purrloin. The worst rivals in my opinion, however, are the X and Y rivals Serena/Calem, Shauna, Trevor and Tierno. The former two were decent rivals but are heldback by their lackluster personalities. The latter two are terrible rivals and hardly did anything substantial. Their presence was faint. Why did GameFreak think having four unmemorable rivals in the same game was a good idea? Trevor is also either a liar or a Gary Stu since he claims to have caught a Mewtwo. On a similar note, Lyra in HG/SS is also a liar since she calls you and states that her Marill "went and evolved" but when you visit her it's still a Marill, not an Azumarill. Who do you think are the worst rivals in the series?
