After watching the episode a fuckload of times I can safely skip to Ash's part (just so the transition into Ash-Greninja isn't ruined) and be fine, but I'm so glad Shota got the proper sendoff he deserves.
I love imaging what goes on through all the characters heads as it goes down. Some of the lesser trainers in the stadium have to be losing their fucking minds, and Serena must be a complete roller coaster.
