Because its not the worst. It's got PvP, making it better than PLA. Its got Sevii Islands, Vs Seeker, and Trainer Hill, which sets it above games like XY or SM with little to match. Even had some little side quest like things like the mini games and Fame Checker. Sevii Islands alone were cozy as fuck, and it gave you a slice of Johto.

Also Gen 3 was much more focused on each game between RSE, FRLG, and Colo/XD being interconnected, each having unique endgame content for Pokemon to travel between and take part in, but zoomers wouldnt know about that
