There are visually less Spinda variations than expected because each of the 4 spots is placed on a grid but the grid extends further than Spinda's head, meaning that certain spot combinations with "missing" spots are technically different but visually identical, since you can't see the spot.
Emerald DOES have a working RNG, however it only works when you start a new game and not when you load an existing save. The function for the RNG exists in the game code, it just isn't called on game load for whatever reason.
In gen 1, any Pokemon recharging after Hyper Beam is guaranteed to be hit by an opposing sleep move, even if they're already inflicted with status. i.e Sleep Powder will have 100% accuracy against a recharging Dragonite. Sleep will override any previous status.
The taller grass in National Park has a boosted encounter rate.
Shadow Pokemon in Pokemon Colosseum are shiny locked by comparing the PID with TID/SID of the NPC trainer and rerolling if it would result in a shiny, however this only means the Shadow Pokemon won't be be shiny for the NPC. When you snag them, they have a chance to be shiny for you, essentially "turning shiny" after capture. This was fixed in Pokemon XD as now shadow Pokemon PIDs are compared to both the player's and the NPC's TID/SID, so they are truly shiny locked.
