To hear Pokémon can't delay because muh merch when you know there will likely be Amiibo sales linked to this and even companies like Yacht Club Games (a fucking indie) and From Software were willing to not just delay the release of their games but the associated merch until everything was ready.
YCG are even delaying for ALL platforms until the DLC, Amiibo, and physical copies containing said DLC are all ready to go.
Game Freak has no excuse in comparison even if they would be terribly put out for the merch sitting in a warehouse for a couple years while they sell other merch instead.
